Which Route Do I Take?

By Steve. On July 21, 2009 Under The Nitty Gritty

Okay in the last post we discussed the fact that we’re going to venture online and build a business,  build a plan,  a system with which or through which we can sell products,  information to people who wish to find out about the product or information we are going to deal in. In our case Internet marketing more specifically listed building.

We must all realise that the Internet, or the World Wide Web is entering a new stage, we are entering an information age. This effectively means that before anybody spends money online one can find out virtually all there is to find out about the product or service  they wish to purchase. Indeed as I mentioned in the last post I found out a great deal of information about Alex Jeffery’s and the “Alex Jeffery’s Marketing Course” which I purchased. And that started me on the journey which you are now following on this blog.

Before I joined this course I had hundreds and hundreds of questions that needed to be answered before I could even think about making money online. It sounds easy, I am going to sell E books online and make a fortune. If you say it quickly it doesn’t take long and it sounds easy. So where do we start?

Make a website                                                 Get aweber acc

Get a domain name                                             Get pay pal.

Get Web hosting                                                   Set up a blog  What is a blog?

Design webpages                                                 write posts to blog.

Designed squeeze pages

Design sales pages

Accept online payments from credit cards

Create a list

Gather people’s names and e-mail addresses

This list is just a few of the things we have to do in order to build an online business, there are many more. Are You surprised at this list? I know I was certainly surprised when I first started to write a list of things that we had to find out about and learn about.

So I think you will agree it is evident that we need to do some planning. Now what do we mean by this word planning? If you’re anything like me you have got 1000 things whizzing around in your brain at the moment, and you have to try and put them in some sort of order and make sense of them. This next piece of information I am going to tell you about I’m afraid I cannot take credit for. The person who started to make everything become clearer the person who has put all this in some sort of order and started to make things make sense to me is Alex Jeffries.

Alex Jeffries has taught me that the key to a successful business is planning, you need to plan everything. Every small insignificant step plan it and plan it again and again. Okay this is a simple way to do this, get a clean sheet of paper and draw three columns on the paper. A, B and C. Now the first row A, put in this row a list of jobs that you think are most important. In row B put the jobs that are not quite so important. In row C put the jobs of least importance. You get the idea. Now just to explain the point look at the next pharagraph.

Alex Jeffries takes planning to a new level. Alex plans his business a year in advance. He makes a yearly plan, then he makes four 90 day plans. Then he makes four weekly plans, next he makes weekly plans and you can guess the next yes he makes daily plans. The last thing he would do today is plan tomorrow.

Okay okay I can hear your  screams of anguish from here. How am I going to plan a year in advance I hear you say. Well let me tell you it is not easy I am trying very hard but I am nowhere near that achievement yet. Let me tell you about a website that will help you draw a picture of your plan. Go to ‘www.mindmeister.com ‘ this is a free service and you can use it online. There are plans you can pay for but what you need to start with the free one is quite adequate. So sign up one of their free accounts, watch the tutorial and start to put down everything you could possibly think of and create your first mind map.

Fun Things!! What – Fun things you ask? what has fun got ot do with my business planning- Ummm?? well everything since you ask :-) ) We all need to enjoy our selves once in a while. You need to plan days out with your family, with your friends. Plan Vacations!! Are you following me here?? you need to have fun, if you don’t enjoy what you are doing you will not continue – that means you will fail, and that means I am failing in my Blog to teach you the way I am moving.

Example:- I am into Bikes, so 3 or 4 times a year I go to the continent with a few mates to watch different race meets. We ride hard but have a good time – very often we get so wet you would think we had fallen in a river, oh yes it can rain in France. Sorry I am getting carried away, you get the idea yes?

You will be amazed how much better you feel about things once you have written things down, this has the peculiar effect of taking a weight off your mind. I know I’ve done it!! So see how you get on I will catch you on the next post.

By the way if you have any questions or comments please feel free to leave them at the end of this post.

 Regards Steve.
